ACM Lifting Lives, the charitable arm of the Academy of Country Music, offers ACM Lifting Lives Grants that support music education programs in schools, especially for students who are at risk and underserved; start-up music programs for kindergarten through grade 12; projects that prevent dissolution of music education in schools; and artist-in-residence programs. Funding may also be used for music therapy programs for special needs schools and camps; individuals who are disabled; members of the military; patients and clients in hospitals, hospices, retirement homes, and nursing centers; and music-related relief initiatives in communities impacted by natural disasters. Preference is given to programs that show the greatest financial need and serve at-risk populations. Funding allows for purchase or repair of musical instruments or music-related equipment including computers, software, and recording equipment.
