Rocket Challenge Student Team Competition

The Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) strives to inspire the next generation of engineers and technicians to join the aerospace industry. The challenge is an extracurricular, hands-on, project-based learning program incorporating aerospace-specific science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Teams of three to 10 students design, build, and fly a rocket. Each year a unique task is included in the challenge.

Eligible Organizations: Eligible applicants are public, private, and independent schools; homeschools; and nonprofit youth or educational organizations. There is no limit to the number of teams from a single institution that can register. Team members must be students currently enrolled in grades 7 through 12. Teams must be supervised by an adult and have the approval of the principal of the sponsoring school. There is a $125 entry fee per team.

Awards: $100,000 in prizes and scholarships

Deadline: Annual; 2018 Registration Deadline is December 1, 2017
