The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) Aspire Adult Workforce Readiness Education program is accepting applications from eligible providers to implement and improve adult education and literacy activities within the state and to operate programs that provide a comprehensive model for adult education services.
Aspire programs assist adults in developing literacy skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency; obtaining educational skills necessary to become full partners in the educational development of their children; and achieving the educational skills necessary for completion of a secondary level of education. This funding is made available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (AWIOA), Title II, Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA).
Eligibility: An organization must be considered an eligible provider to receive federal adult basic education funding. An “eligible provider” is defined as an organization that has demonstrated effectiveness in providing adult education and literacy activities.
Award: The minimum for each grant award is set at $75,000
Deadline: The deadline for applying for the three-year grant is March 30
