The Jane Goodall Institute offers Roots and Shoots minigrants to organize and implement youth-led community action programs. Grants are intended to support youth leadership and service learning. Youth groups identify local needs, prioritize their findings, and develop solutions to community problems.
Eligible applicants are US educators, school groups, and individuals who work with children and youth. Interested applicants must first become a member of the Roots and Shoots initiative; registration is free. Applications must be submitted online.
Eligibility: Public, Private, Charter, Other (including homeschool, 501 (c)(3) organizations)
Award: Grants of $200 are awarded.
Deadline: Applications are due January 22 and March 19.
