Wireless, STEM, and Radio Technology Education Project Grants

The Alfred E. Friend, Jr., W4CF, Educational Activities Fund provides annual grants for educational programs and activities of amateur radio organizations, with special emphasis on projects involving youth and teacher development. Eligible projects include explorations and ongoing education related to wireless; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); and radio technology. Preference is given to applicants with local radio club participation and supported by community fundraising. The fund is administered by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation.

Applicants use the grant application form available on the Amateur Radio Grants web page of the ARRL website. The form and a detailed budget must be submitted using the online system. A grant award may be renewed based on a performance report by the recipient group and submission of an application for renewed funding.

Applicants must complete the online grant application form available at: www.arrl.org/grant-application. Submit the application and a detailed budget spreadsheet via email only to the foundation contact.

Eligibility: Public, Private, Charter, Other (including homeschool, 501 (c)(3) organizations)

Award: Awards range from $1,000 to $3,000.

Deadline: Applications are due October 1, annually.
