The Cigna Foundation Healthier Kids for Our Future program awards grants worldwide to organizations addressing gaps in delivering food and nutritional education to children. Specifically, the foundation is looking for programs that bracket or augment in-school efforts in the following areas:
•Community-based programs that support children’s and families’ access to healthy meals and nutritional education outside the school setting, on weekends, and during the summer.
•Food and nutritional programs that provide support for expecting mothers and caregivers.
•Support for programs that address the needs of preschool children.
•Health provider or clinician efforts that navigate patients to nutritional education or food as prescription programming.
•School-based programs that enhance or augment state or federal assistance efforts. Eligible applicants are nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations with annual budgets greater than $250,000. Applications must be submitted online.
