The Edward E. Ford Foundation works to strengthen independent secondary schools through its Traditional Grants. Grants support a project or program to address a school’s greatest institutional need. Examples of previous funding include expansion of diversity, equity, and inclusion programming through cultural competency training, professional development, and curriculum development; creation of a multiuse trail network of outdoor learning spaces for fieldwork and physical exercise programs; and training for faculty to consider issues of bias and stereotyping in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics experiences for girls and young women.
Eligible applicants are independent secondary schools for grades 9 through 12 that are members of the National Association of Independent Schools. Interested applicants must first register for an agenda placement. A match is required. Applications must be submitted using the online system.
Eligibility: Private, Other (including homeschool, 501 (c)(3) organizations)
Award: Awards range from $25,000 to $100,000.
Deadline: Applications are due April 1, annually.
