The Truist Foundation (formed by BB&T and SunTrust) awards Economic Mobility Grants to support education, training, and related programs that can improve economic quality of life and to break the cycle of poverty in US communities the foundation serves. Focus areas include financial education, workforce development, entrepreneurship, student financial management, and financial counseling. Grants support one-time projects, such as a new program launch or curriculum development, which are sustainable and do not fund recurring expenses. There are three yearly grant cycles. Among review considerations are active engagement of Truist teammates through board service or as volunteers.
