This digital learning experience is brought to you by EnvisionEdPlus and will be facilitated by Lorraine Gaughenbaugh, an EnvisionEdPlus STEAM specialist. This 8-hour, self-paced course is designed for K-6 teachers and intervention specialists. Design thinking and STEAM resources are introduced to effectively engage the minds of young learners. Participants will create, implement, and improve a lesson plan that integrates STEAM and literacy instruction while practicing these new skills within your own work setting. This course includes ‘office hours’ to encourage collaboration.
Lorraine Guaghenbaugh has designed and implemented innovative programs to serve students in an elementary STEAM school. She provides leadership in STEAM education that incorporates problem-based learning, design thinking, and 21st century skills. She is also a teacher-leader with Stand Up for Shakespeare – America, a partnership with Ohio State University and The Royal Shakespeare Company. Lorraine is a guest lecturer at OSU and prepares undergraduates in the use of dramatic inquiry in the classroom. Lorraine has recently retired from teaching after 32 years.
