MakerX – the Columbus Maker Expo – is Coming

Maker Education has been expanding nationwide. Growing out of the Maker Movement, Maker Education has complemented problem-based learning by integrating design thinking in spaces made for innovation. Its value in developing persistence, risk taking, collaboration, and a sense that failure is not an end but a learning point makes it a valuable asset in promoting inventiveness and curiosity in students at school and after-school programs alike.

Most maker events focus on the adult maker with little attention to Maker Education. While not the sole focus of MakerX, this event joins the few events that recognize the role of young people in this community. Best of all, though tickets are required, anyone 18 years or younger will be admitted FREE. Adult tickets are just $5. Free parking is available, and a variety of food trucks will be on site.

This is your chance to see fellow students, educators, and other enthusiastic makers of all ages share their excitement about technologies that are revolutionizing the ability of students, hobbyists, professionals and companies to design and create, including the latest tools in CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, micro-controllers and other electronics, robotics, drones and more.

The upcoming event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 21, 2018, at the Reynoldsburg Battelle Fablab/Reynoldsburg Performing Arts Center, 8579 Summit Road, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. This event will be:
