The J.W. Couch Foundation awards Education Grants as part of the foundation’s mission to “plan for the future.” Funding priorities address three primary areas: early childhood education, twenty-first century education, and teachers. Within early childhood education, the foundation welcomes schools that provide a creative and balanced approach to education with emphasis on project-based teaching, life skills, outdoor play, and children having fun.
Support for twenty-first century learning targets skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, collaboration, curiosity, and imagination. Teacher-focused programs provide direct support to ensure well-prepared educators. The foundation provides grants for general operating support, specific projects and programs, and to help social entrepreneurs launch new products. There are four funding cycles yearly.
