Description

This grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture with the goal of increasing the capacity of child nutrition providers that use locally sourced foods. Funded programs should also include agricultural education opportunities for students.

Grant awards will range from $5,000 to $40,000. Programs should meet one or more of the following:

Opportunities for students to explore agriculture careers
Grow relationships with local agriculture producers
Increase school-grown foods served in meal programs

DEW is hosting grant application webinars on;

April 10th 9 to 10am
April 29th 2 to 3pm
May 14th 9 to 10am

Eligibility

DEW’s announcement states: “Those eligible to apply include National School Lunch Program, Child and Adult Food Care Program, and Summer Food Service Program sponsors. Providers are encouraged to work with farmers, nonprofits, and other community partners to strengthen their farm to school programming.”
