The J.W. Couch Foundation awards Education Grants as part of the foundation’s mission to ‘plan for the future’. Funding priorities address three primary areas: early childhood education, twenty-first century education, and teachers. Within early childhood education, the foundation welcomes schools that provide a creative and balanced approach to education with emphasis on project-based teaching, life skills, outdoor play, and children having fun.
Support for twenty-first century learning targets skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, collaboration, curiosity, and imagination. Teacher-focused programs provide direct support to ensure well-prepared educators. The foundation provides grants for general operating support, specific projects and programs, and to help social entrepreneurs launch new products. There are four funding cycles yearly.
Eligible applicants are US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and for-profit organizations that are aligned with the foundation’s charitable programs. Organizations may submit an already prepared proposal or complete the application form, available to access from the website. All applications must be submitted online.
