Ohio Law requires each city, local and exempted village school district to provide career-technical education to students enrolled in grades seven and eight.
However, in the past districts could complete a waiver so they didn’t have to meet this requirement. Recently, H.B. 66 eliminated the CTE waivers effective for the 2026-2027 school year. This means that next year, every school in Ohio that serves students in grades seven and eight will be required to offer CTE coursework to those students.
While many schools already offer these courses, over 34% of Ohio schools do not.
Creating and sustaining pathways can be time consuming, stressful, and confusing. Balancing curriculum, pathway partners, and compliance is a handful! Over the last 5 years, we’ve helped over 300 schools build successful pathways in fields ranging from advanced manufacturing, unmanned aircraft industry, health care, travel and tourism, construction trades and more!
To help Ohio middle schools navigate this change, we are offered a live-virtual session on September 9th to help you work through the implications of this legislation.

Here’s what past school partners have to say:
“We are so excited to launch two new Credential Pathways in August. We used content learned during the EnvisionEdPlus events and the ongoing support from them to create, develop, and implement our entire vision for the college and career planning at our high school.”
