With the modern fast paced society we are all living in it’s easy to get caught up in work projects, home tasks, school work, and a social life all while trying to maintain a healthy fitness regimen and mental health practices. It has become all too easy to let the latter slide by the wayside. But, just how does mental health affect our daily lives?

While the topic of mental health has gained momentum over the past decade, it is still a topic that is easily ignored. It is common for struggling students to show negative behavior that can easily be overlooked and labeled as bad behavior, class clown, etc. Without knowing the warning signs to look for and how to support students and their families our students are more likely to fall behind in academics, disengage from school or friends and even harm themselves or others.

Luckily, the topic of mental health has become less taboo which has led to an increased amount of research and a growth in great resources that can help educators and youth serving professionals address the needs of just about any student.
