Description

The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking schools containing grade 9 or 10 to use the Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) High School program.

This grant allows CU Boulder to provide two years of training and program materials to eligible schools/districts beginning in Fall 2024.

The Botvin LifeSkills Training program consists of ten 45-minute classes for 9th and 10th grade students. Students will learn skills to reduce stress and anxiety as well as increase their well-being. The course also covers substance abuse and violence prevention, guidance to add vaping prevention, and they all align with standards for health education.

This grant covers:

  • Two years of the course curriculum, student guides, and teacher manuals.
  • Teacher training workshops.
  • Stipends or substitute pay reimbursement for those attending training workshops.
  • Ongoing technical assistance, as needed.
  • Training-of-Trainers (TOT) workshops for those interested.
  • Regional workshops to help design and implement effective financing and sustainability strategies.
  • Feedback reports on successes and recommendations.

 

Eligibility

  • Schools/districts must serve grade 9 or 10.
  • Must assign a “site coordinator” in the district to oversee program effort.
  • Must allow CU Boulder to monitor fidelity through lesson observations, feedback surveys, and a site visit.
  • Must provide aggregate demographics (gender and ethnicity) of students receiving program.
